It’s just wasn’t nature; it was unhealthy. That’s what the adults at the group home often said about them. For the last five years the two of them had stuck to one another like glue. Considering their age difference – six years – there was something disturbing about all the time they spent together.
He rarely even spoke to anyone but her; she never spoke to anyone but him.
It was unsettling.
They decided to separate them – for their own mental and emotional health.
Two days before she turned twelve, Nojima Kazuko was moved from Tokyo to Chiba.
