Summary: Mason watches Taka
He spent two weeks with Jin and Taka during the summer of 2015. Jin had bought an old wooden house with a garden for Taka. She spent most of her time in the garden or in her bedroom.
One night, he stood in Taka’s doorway and watched her sleep. She spent most of the night calling Jiro’s name softly in her sleep.
The next morning, she walked around the house and the garden in a listless manner. Somehow, she appeared to still be asleep.
He wondered if she was just waiting for Jiro; if she was waiting to wake up.
