Story Title: Christmas Meal
Summary: Christmas Dinner, 2030 with Eddie and Aoi.
Sitting around the table for a meal was a tradition in their family. Seven people around a table – somehow it made the holidays seem bright.
Like Geum Chan-wook before them, Aoi and Eddie had taken to taking in children. By 2030, they had taken in five children from four different countries. Like Chan-wook before them, Eddie had taught all the kids Korean - it was the language of the family.
Gently, Aoi placed the steamed buns onto the table, the steam rising from them like smoke from a chimney. Eddie opened his mouth to try and give some sort of heartwarming speech – that would have been less than heartwarming – when he noticed his youngest, Zen, reach over the table to grab seven steamed buns in her hands. He had no idea that a person could pick up seven buns at one time.
“Seven?” Eddie questioned with a grin. “Zen, are you hungry?”
The tiny girl shook her head, causing her dark hair to fly into her face. “I just like the number, Uncle. Seven’s my lucky my number.”
“Mine too.” Eddie laughed softly under his breath. “Let’s eat.”
